Margarita Mamun, Yana Kudryavtseva (RUS) claim first golds at Rhythmic Worlds in Stuttgart Silver Hoop, golden routine.
Margarita Mamun (RUS) and Yana Kudryavtseva (RUS) struck quickly in the first finals of the 2015 Rhythmic Gymanstics World Championships Tuesday night in Stuttgart (GER), winning one individual World title apiece while asserting Russia's dominance in the discipline.
Mamun, who made a surprising mistake during Monday's qualification round, quickly erased doubts about her ability to perform under pressure. Faced with the challenge of 17-year-old teammate Aleksandra Soldatova, Mamun delivered an exceptional Hoop routine in finals Tuesday to win her sixth World gold and her first World title with the apparatus, scoring 18.950 points.
"I was a bit tired," Mamun said. "I did three exercises today. But tomorrow is a new day and I will be ready. I made a mistake in qualifications, and it was a bit hard to be prepared for the finals in the evening, buut the team helped me."
Soldatova, in her first-ever individual World final, took silver with the Hoop. The 17-year-old from Ufa expressed pleasure at performing well as she establishes herself as an indivdiual force on the world scene.
"I am happy I did everything well today," she said. "I am happy to represent my country."
Kudryavtseva, the undisputed queen of Rhythmic Gymnastics for the past two years, meanwhile continued the domination she showed at the 2013 and 2014 Worlds. In spite of a slight mishap on a catch with the Ball, the judges awarded the "Angel with Iron Wings" the highest note of the evening on either apparatus, 19.025 points.
That score put her a hair over Mamun, 20, who lost a second gold by only 0.025 (19.000), giving Russia both golds and both silvers from the first day of finals. Veteran Melitina Staniouta (BLR) won bronze with the Ball for the second year in a row (18.350).
Kudryavtseva, who has won the World All-around title at the past two World Championships, chose to sit out the Hoop competition this year to keep from aggravating a leg injury, but is expected to compete for individual World titles with the Clubs and the Ribbon.
So far, she feels at home in Stuttgart. I am satisfied with my performance," she said. "I like the atmosphere here. The public love and understand the sport and there are many Russian supporters."
Those supporters made themselves heard during the Hoop medal ceremony, when the Russian national anthem malfunctioned and stopped playing. A group in the audience waving Russian flags continued singing, as did Mamun and Soldatova on the medal podium.
Ukraine's Ganna Rizatdinova, the 2013 World Hoop champion, settled for bronze with her preferred apparatus (18.583) but said she was pleased with the medal and aspires to more in the coming days.
"Of course sportsmen work for medals and today was only the beginning," she said. "I am happy to have won for my country."
Also emotional was veteran Melitina Staniouta (BLR), who took bronze with the Ball for the second straight year (18.350). The medal is her 13th at the World level, dating back to 2009.
"I perform for the spectators, not for the judges," Staniouta, 21, declared. Asked why she cried on the medal podium, she said, "There are so many emotions, I am very sentimental."
The Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships continue Wednesday with the first day of qualifications with the Clubs and Ribbon. Finals for both apparatus will be held Thursday evening.

Вчера, 8 сентября, в Штутгарте (Германия) на чемпионате мира по художественной гимнастике в упражнении с мячом чемпионкой мира стала россиянка Яна Кудрявцева. Личный тренер спортсменки Елена Карпушенко прокомментировала специальному корреспонденту Агентства спортивной информации «Весь спорт» Виктору Лимасову итоги соревновательного дня.
- Я очень довольна тем, как себя проявила Яна, - сказала Елена Карпушенко. - Я пока не могу сказать, лучшее это ее выступление с мячом в году или нет - мы еще об этом не задумывались. Но мы очень довольны тем, что Яна сумела справиться со всеми сложностями - она выступала очень хорошо.
- Как себя чувствует спортсменка после недавнего повреждения ноги?
- Сейчас уже несколько получше, но пока состояние ноги еще немного ее тревожит. Но Яна справляется с проблемами и думаю, что до конца турнира она должна выступить именно так, как и следует. В командном многоборье нам осталось сделать только упражнения с булавами и лентой. Надеюсь, что все пройдет успешно.
Итоги соревновательного дня ЧМ по художественной гимнастике в Штутгарт.
Во вторник, первый медальный день чемпионата мира по художественной гимнастике, который проходит в немецком Штутгарте, российские спортсменки завоевали 4 медали.
Маргарита Мамун одержала победу в упражнении с обручем (18,950 балла) и стала второй в упражнении с мячом (19,000), равных в котором не было Яне Кудрявцевой (19,025). В упражнении с обручем награда серебряного достоинства досталась ещё одной россиянке Александре Солдатовой (18,650).
Третьи места в упражнениях с обручем и мячом заняли украинка Анна Ризатдинова (18,583) и белорусская гимнастка Мелитина Станюта (18,350), соответственно.
Для Яны Кудрявцевой вчерашняя победа стала девятой на чемпионатах мира. Очередной успех российской гимнастки, самой юной абсолютной чемпионки мира, в интервью Службе информации ОКР прокомментировала её личный тренер Елена Карпушенко. "Мы счастливы, как бываем счастливы после каждой победы. Однако сейчас особую радость мы испытываем от того, что Яна справилась с определёнными сложностями, возникшими в период подготовки к этому чемпионату мира. После повреждения на этапе Кубка мира в Казани нам пришлось несколько форсировать её подготовку, присутствовала накопленная усталость после трёх подряд этапов Кубка мира. Я рада, что на данном этапе Яна справилась и показала прекрасный результат. Но самые главные старты на этом чемпионате ещё впереди – предстоит борьба за олимпийские лицензии, так что нам ещё выступать и выступать", - резюмировала Елена Карпушенко.
Чемпионат мира по художественной гимнастике завершится 13 сентября. В рамках мирового первенства спортсменки поборются за олимпийские лицензии в личном и командном многоборье.
Мамун: исполнение гимна России а капелла даже более патриотично
Россиянка Маргарита Мамун прокомментировала инцидент, произошедший во время церемонии награждения по итогам упражнения с обручем на чемпионате мира по художественной гимнастике в Штутгарте. Организаторы дважды перепутали российский гимн.
«В Германии всё строго по времени — буквально по секундам! В зал можно зайти чётко в 9:15, пришли раньше — ждите. Пунктуальная страна. Вот, правда, перепутали наш гимн. Но это, наоборот, очень поддержало меня, что трибуны пели. Было очень приятно. Так даже лучше, более патриотично.
Вчера, когда летела за мячом, ободрала ногу, ничего страшного. Вечером почувствовала усталость — кроме двух финалов ещё выступала утром, а нервничала в основном вчера и сегодня в первой половине дня. График такой же, как и в прошлом году. Непривычный, потому что так только раз в году, но мы уже знали, что будет. Сегодня в целом довольна, завтра начнём с чистого листа», — приводит слова Мамун «Р-Спорт».
